Jackie Nakamura is a San Francisco-based FedArb expedited arbitrator for complex commercial disputes involving intellectual property, technology, antitrust, insurance and employment matters. She brings more than 20 years of intellectual property litigation and counseling experience to matters that require technical fluency, disciplined case management and efficient resolution.

Ms. Nakamura’s background spans pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices, semiconductors, robotics, artificial intelligence, large language models, social media platforms and e-commerce. She also has international experience involving Europe, Japan and Australia, including the strategic coordination of multijurisdictional patent litigation, prosecution, opposition and enforcement matters.

Before focusing on neutral work, Ms. Nakamura represented clients in complex patent and technology disputes in federal courts in California and Texas. She was a partner at Howrey LLP, where her practice included patent litigation and strategy for medical device, pharmaceutical, drug discovery and internet systems matters. She previously was a partner at Day Casebeer Madrid & Batchelder LLP, where she handled domestic and international patent litigation and represented clients in patent infringement actions through trial and appeal.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Nakamura practiced intellectual property litigation and patent prosecution at Cooley Godward LLP and Morrison & Foerster LLP. She also served as a law clerk to the Hon. Vaughn R. Walker of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.

Through FedArb, Ms. Nakamura is available for expedited arbitrations requiring experience with patent, technology, antitrust, employment, insurance and complex commercial issues.
